Kohatu is a New Zealand variety that has the tropical character we have come to expect in Southern Hemisphere hops - but it is not as assertive a hop as some of the other bold New Zealand varieties. You might like its gentle pineapple and lime characteristics in a Belgian or a Blond, styles where in-your-face hop character is not the goal but where a pleasant tropical note is desired.
