NC Homebrewers: Time To Speak Up!

Posted by Darryl on 10/9/2018

Homebrewers: We all need your voices to be heard this week! In case you haven't heard, the North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission is working on some new homebrew regulations. To summarize: The rules as proposed could put all sorts of unneeded restrictions on who can transport and publicly sample homebrew and who can host and judge homebrew competitions. Bad news across the board, in our opinion. We know firsthand that the homebrew community in NC and elsewhere is fertile ground for future craft brewers. Homebrew contests are, for many, truly the minor leagues.

We need homebrewers to speak up and be part of this rulemaking process. So, what can you do? Check out the proposed ABC rules: https://abc.nc.gov/PublicResources/Announcement/184. Then, write a constructive comment or come to the ABC's hearing on homebrew regulations on October 10th at 10 am.

What else can you do to speak up?
